The black cherry, or also referred to as the Rum cherry or Wild cherry, is a beautiful flowering hardwood that adds color and a valued hardwood to any property. The cherries it produces are more bitter, and used mainly in homemade jams and pies, as it has a sharper taste than its cousin the sweet cherry. Its wood is used often for making high quality cabinetry and furniture, and its fruit is great at attracting birds and other wildlife.
